DEATH OF HAWKINS SENIOR PARTNER AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

 

 
MICHAEL WARD
 
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of Michael Ward, Hawkins’ senior partner, after a short illness, at the age of only 55.
 
Cambridge educated, Michael joined the firm in 1980. During his time at Hawkins he specialised in litigation although in recent years he also turned his hand to private client, tax and probate matters.
 
In April 2009, following the retirement from the partnership of Tony Ellis, Michael took up the reins of senior partner.
 
Michael was known for his keen intellect, his ability to grasp complicated issues, master complex detail and provide sensible, down to earth and comprehensible advice. He was also known for his dry (and sometimes acerbic) wit!
 
Michael will be very sadly missed by his colleagues, his clients and his many friends in the law. The firm is sure that many will wish to join us in sending our sincerest condolences to his widow, Janice, and their two sons Oliver and Rupert.
 
Michael’s funeral is due to take place at South Wootton Parish Church King’s Lynn at 4pm on Tuesday 27th April 2010. Hawkins’ offices will be closed from 2pm on that day as a mark of respect for Michael and to allow his partners and staff to attend his funeral.
