Advising in family and divorce law

Divorce now affects one family in three according to national statistics.

Separation and divorce is always distressing and throws up all sorts of problems which need to be confronted, addressed and resolved.

What do I need to show to get a divorce? What amounts to a fair financial settlement? What will happen to the children? Will I have to give up my house?

These are just some of the typical questions we hear when seeing a new divorce client.

Unmarried and cohabiting couples, too, split up and find they have their own problems to deal with, some very similar to those of divorcing couples, some not.

It is not usually as easy to answer the questions as to pose them but you may find some assistance in the answers to "frequently asked questions" elsewhere on this site.

Some people are able to deal with all these problems and questions on their own, but the vast majority cope better with professional help and support.

Our aim at Hawkins is to provide all our clients with the information, support and professional advice they need to make informed decisions, together with an excellent standard of representation.

We have the experience to guide you through the maze of legislation, case law and procedure, and you will find our solicitors sympathetic and approachable.

Hawkins is an old established firm based in central King's Lynn which has been advising family and divorce clients for nearly 100 years. We hold a current legal aid franchise in Family Law.
